Off to preschool I go . . .

Today I started my new job.  It was a rainy day but it turned out to be very nice.  I was able to help prepare things for when the kids come on Wednesday.  We have three different classes and there are 10 or less in each class.  I know a few of the kids so that will help.  It was a good first day at a new job.  I wasn't nervous at all and I think things went really well.  We will see how the next few days go.  I know we have 7 kids that have special needs and they are divided between the classes.  I look forward to meeting them all this week.  This is a picture of the elementary school where I now work for those of you who don't know.

  1. I remember cooking my last few years at this school. My memories are not near as good here as they were at teh two high schools I cooked at. I think you will really enjoy working with these kids and they will love you.

  2. I have fond memories of that school, but not so fond memories of the lunch room. That's where my second grade teacher would make us all eat at least half of everything on our trays and let me tell ya, homemade mac&cheese days combined with Little Smokies almost about made me lose it all -- seriously. YUCK. Another not-so-fond memory: In first grade, my teacher said that we all had to wear our Thanksgiving Day outfits to lunch on the day before the holiday, and guess who didn't have one because she was sick the day before and was completely embarrased when she didn't have a cute little pilgrim bonnet on her head like every other little girl? I'm not bitter at all. The rest of my memories of the Central Elementary are very good, though.

  3. Point is, I recommend taking your own lunch to work each day Becky. Mom and I both agree that the lunchroom's not so hot .... well ... come to think of it, it was really hot. Deathy hot. Especially in the late summer ....

  4. I will try to take my own lunches. I get to eat in the workroom. It is a great place to be - I have mostly good memories from this school.
