The National Abilities center in Park City, Utah was the place to be on June 21st.
It was cowboy day for the kids - they got cowboy hats and badges and had lots of fun.
Kimball and Koria show off their bicycle skills on the course.
They had all kinds of different bikes that you could steer or pedal with your hands
and even one that you steer with your chest. This was the favorite stop of the day!
Kendra took Luke on a tandem bike that he really enjoyed.
He just wanted to "Go faster" all the time.
Layne wouldn't keep a helmet on so she colored herself up with chalk.
She had fun doing her own thing.
Luke made it up 1/4 of the climbing wall, Koria made it about 3/4 of the way up,
and Kimball made it all the way up a couple times.
They really were brave to attempt the climb - I walked around with Layne
so I didn't get many pictures here.
She wouldn't keep a helmet on so we just explored the building.
The next stop was the high ropes course outside.
Kimball climbed the netting first - he wanted to "do it all".
He climbed up no problem - when he realized how high up it was,
he got a little scared but they talked him down.
They got Layne to put a helmet on long enough to take a swing way up high.
Kendra held one of the ropes and helped to swing her.
She even smiled and didn't cry.
We were all praying really hard that she would enjoy it and she did.
Is that almost a smile?
Jared and Kimball went together across this part of the course.
Koria said she would do it if Kendra did.
Kendra made it and Koria got a little scared.
I don't blame her - it was really high up there.
Can you see Luke in the swing now?
He really enjoyed being up there that high.
The swing was the favorite part of this event - all the kids tried it.
Then it was time to brush down the horses.
Layne could have gotten a ride, but she wouldn't keep a helmet on without screaming.
She hung out with Jared outside while the other kids groomed the horses.
Kimball and Luke had fun but the instructor had to stay close by.
They kept walking around too close to the back of the horse
and she wanted them to be safe.
