No, we did not go without our electronic gadgets. That's what most people think of when they hear this. We literally took the power plugs out and put new ones in. We have most of the upstairs done now and we still need to do the one in the bathroom (anyone know how to install a ground fault circuit interrupter?)
and the whole downstairs and garage. We had one go out and an electrician from our ward said that all our plugs are illegal now and could cause fires. We are replacing them all. It is a lot more work than you would imagine, though. You have to move a lot of furniture and clean out things too. Mom, Dad, and I were all very tired last night. We worked from 9 am to 4 pm with just a lunch break. Some were easy - one black wire, one white wire, and the ground wire. Some were a little more complex - 2 black, 2 white, and a ground. The hardest ones had 2 black, 2 red, 2 white, and a ground wire. We hope we did everything all right. We haven't had any major problems, so I guess we did okay.
Looks like fun, right?
This was the hardest one to reach - it was at the back of the drawers in the computer desk.
I sure wished for longer arms yesterday doing this one. It was by far the hardest one of the day.
It even had red wires. I am glad it is done. I hope downstairs goes well whenever my fingers recover enough to try this again.
I'm glad you have finished as many as you did Becky and I hope you fingers feel good soon. Dad and I appreciate all of your hard work.
