This was taken on the road in front of the cabin. As you can see, there is still a lot of snow there, but it is melting quickly. We don't know how quickly it will melt, though, so I am providing a lot of pictures for Wendy and her family to try to decide about the reunion (good luck, by the way).
The picture below is from the back porch. Derek drove the traxter into the cabin and gave Mom and I each a ride - Dad and Lance and his family all walked in. It was warm up there most of the day, but as we left it started to rain.
The picture below is taken from the snowbank looking at the back porch.
The picture below is from just off the back porch looking towards the road - you can see there is a bare spot on the road - well, at least a muddy stretch on the road.
This is a side shot looking at the front porch.
I guarantee there will still be snow in front of the cabin in 2 weeks.
This picture is looking towards the shed from the snowbank.
This one is of Dad walking back to the pickup on the road.
this is taken from the same spot as the previous one - I am just looking up the canyon
and below we have the one snow-free zone on the road
I just know I am glad I don't have to decide what to do.
Good luck Wendy - we will support you with whatever you and your family decide to do.
I think she will be speaking with a lot of you tomorrow so be prepared to give your input!
There is definately a lot of snow up there.
