They came about 1pm today. Dad & I went down to Sugar City Market and met the truck driver to unload the big boxes into the pickup. They came a day late because of the big snowstorms back east.
We got it all set up and tried to read the directions so we could help when the time came.
Lance came about 4pm and he started working on the first wheel. Too bad they misprinted the pieces with left and right. We debated whether or not to follow their labelling, but in the end had to go against it because the pieces simply wouldn't fit as labelled. Good thing Lance was patient with Dad and I trying to help him follow the directions. I'm not sure if it got easier as we went along or not - it took until almost 9:30pm to get all four on. Derek came about 6pm and we had a break for dinner. Mom made us hamburger soup, homemade rolls, and homemade cinnamon rolls. They were delicious.
Here is Derek tightening up the last nuts on the last wheel at 9:26pm.
Lance and he then had to take it for a test drive. They will still have to do some adjustments on it, however, so we aren't going to take it to the cabin. Oh well, they won't feel like playing that much when they are done shoveling off the roof anyway. Thanks Lance & Derek for all your hard work. Thanks Mom & Dad for getting them. I look forward to trying them out soon.
Looks pretty wild and crazy. So you'll have to switch back to the wheels later on around summertime, right?
ReplyDeleteThese tracks will work both summer and winter. You won't be able to go near as fast, but should be able togo places you can't with the wheels.
ReplyDeleteKatrina ws busy trying to intertain the kids inside because they were really tired. Thanks for all your hard work Becky, Lance, Derek and Dad. It was cold out there in the garage.
Jared here. Just wanting to state that I'm very upset that homemade cinnamon rolls were made when I wasn't there!!
