Mele Kalikimaka

Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say,
On a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day,
That's the island greeting that we send to you
From the land where palm trees sway,
Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright,
The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night,
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way
To say "Merry Christmas to you."

From the land where palm trees sway,
Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright,
The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night,
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way
To say, "Merry Christmas,
A very Merry Christmas to you."

OK - I know it's not Christmas day yet and we aren't in Hawaii, but this is supposed to be the warmest day of the week.  We were able to get most of the snow and ice cleared off the driveway because it got above freezing.  I hope we can get the rest off tomorrow.  OH NO!!!  Did I just hear some snow fall off the roof???  I don't dare look because I really don't want to go back out there . . .

I also made some homemade magic shell topping for ice cream.
We will have to try it out when you all come home on Monday.

 Mele Kalikimaka ! ! !

  1. I love the Hawaiian words. They only use 16 letters in the alphabet. I have been amazed at all the songs that I didn't know or have even heard all of the verses. You and Scott have had a great December with your scriptures and songs. I'm not as deep a thinker are both of you. Your "spirits" must be older than mine. When I play games with Becky, I am sure of that.

  2. Ha! Ha!

    Older is not Better!
I want to be young forever!

I have enjoyed the Christmas songs too! They have really made me think about the words.
